Self-harm

The term self-harm encompasses various ways of harming oneself. These include, for example, scratching, hitting, cutting, burning and others. Individuals who self-harm thus act mainly for the purpose of their own relaxation and relief from problems, thus drowning out the psychological pain. Others want to draw attention to themselves or are just experimenting. Unfortunately, in some cases such actions end in unwanted suicide.
