Musical subcultures

The concept of musical subculture is broad in terms of content. It designates a large number of diverse genres and also social groups. They have in common the fact that music is the focus of their interest. Among the most famous subcultures are metalheads, punkers or hip-hoppers, we cannot forget the style of goth, reggae, techno and, last but not least, tramps, which combine country music and folk. People can be identified as belonging to a given subculture not only because of the style of music (genre) they prefer and listen to, they also very often adjust their appearance and style of dressing to it, as well as ways of spending their free time, such as frequented bars, clubs, festivals and etc. Sometimes it is a visually very distinctive differentiation, e.g. pale make-up, chains and crosses for Goth people, other times only an "uska" (army backpack) and a hat (tramps) are enough to differentiate. From ordinary music fans, subculturalists are distinguished by systems of specific norms and values and by a practised lifestyle.
